Gokseong occupies 72ha of Jeollanam-do's total cultivated area (1,211ha), and high-quality strawberries have been produced by improving continuous cropping hazard and soil steadily through the collaborative network of industry-university-institute-government. In particular, cooperative sorting and branding of a strawberry made it possible to provide it to domestic leading department stores and distributors. The linking of strawberry harvesting experiences to tourism industry contributed to the enhanced brand awareness of the Gokseong strawberry.
